KERO KERO BONITO
Written for ACCLAIM, published in 2014
I basically morphed into the heart eyes emoji when I heard the Kero Kero Bonito tracks ‘Bonito Shopping’ and ‘Kero Kero Bonito’. Sarah, Gus and Jamie make up the super-cute London-based trio who bring together my favourite elements of new wave, new rave and J-pop. Hearing their music makes me instantly think of Crash Course in Science, Flying Lizards, Tom Tom Club, New Young Pony Club and CSS if they collaborated on a soundtrack for this Britney Spears Japanese candy commercial.
